Resistor for neutral grounding

Neutral Grounding Resistors are generally employed in the LV and MV distribution networks to protect power transformers and generators from damaging currents in the event of an earth fault.

Sizing is done by considering the repetition rate, the duration and the intensity of the fault current. Also electrical insulation is important because these resistors are installed in MV systems.
