Today Fairfild is a modernly organized company with a continuous growth. It is currently dislocated in 2 plants in Lombardy.
The quality certifications and the obtained awards, together with the many years spent working with customers and areas where the quality itself is a must both for the product and for the process, make our company a reliable partner.

Our technical office is made of three different departments:


Normalization and codification department
It deals with the standardization and codification of components and products. The office is in charge of the elaboration and recording of the basic data sheets of the products listed in our catalogue
Electronic/electric planning and laboratory

It deals with the electric design and with the electrical dimensioning on the products made on specific needs and requests of the customer. It is responsible of the Fairfild Laboratory and of the measurement equipments

Mechanical design

This department is in charge of the mechanical design (dimensioning, tests and software simulations about shock and vibrations).

The technical department can count on a high skilled production department and on employees with a many years experience in samples making. This department has a laboratory with the following equipments too:

  • DC power supply 0-60V / 0-80A adjustable.
  • AC power supply 0-1500V  / max 3,3 A adjustable – 5kW maximum power.
  • 220V-20A / 450V-30A / 760V-40A DC power supply – 18kW maximum power.
  • 140V-180A / 220V – 180A / 300V – 180A / 380V – 100A / 760V – 53A  AC power supply – 53kW maximum power. It can be 50% overcharged for short times.
  • Many brand new and highly precise LCR bridges.
  • 1300X1200X1800 test cabin.
  • Climatic room with -55°C  +140°C range.
  • Test equipment for dielectric strenght up to 24.000V
  • Test equipment for atmospheric pulse up to 400kV 10kJ
  • 500kW electricity-generating group
  • 12kV Tri-phase elevator
  • AC-DC power inverter 0-12kV adjustable
  • Temperature probe made in optical fibre with up to 500kV insulation.

We can perform resistor heating tests up to 320 kW in continuous supply mode and up to 400 kW in overcharge mode

Hardware and software
  • Equipment for data acquisition with 12 contemporary temperature/power/electricity
    /resistance probes. Software for acquired data elaboration and specific hardware.

    Mechanical Desktop Inventor Series 11.0, Autocad LT
    Norms: all the main norms of the railway system about our products.
    We are evaluating some software for thermal and mechanical simulations.
